Description from the seller
1. General information
Artist: The Rolling Stones
Album: Big Hits (High Tide and Green Grass)
Label: London Records
Catalog Number: NPS-1
Format: LP, Compilation, Stereo, Gatefold
Country: US
Year: 1966
Pressing: First Pressing (Original US Release)
2. Description
An incredible archival copy of The Rolling Stones' first greatest hits compilation, released in 1966. This is the original US Stereo edition featuring the "Electronically Re-Processed" banner on the cover. The album is housed in its iconic gatefold sleeve, complete with the integrated multi-page booklet featuring high-quality color photographs of the band. Finding a 1966 original pressing still preserved in its original shrink wrap is exceptionally rare.
3. Condition
Cover: NM- (Near Mint Minus). Astounding condition for its age. The jacket is still protected by the original factory shrink wrap, keeping the artwork vivid and clean. The spine is solid. There is very minor shelf wear/bumping to the corners (visible on bottom left/top right) simply due to decades of storage, but the opening edge is sharp.
Vinyl: Presumed Mint / Near Mint (visually unverified if sealed, or grade accordingly if opened).
Inserts: Includes the attached color photo booklet inside the gatefold.
4. Notes for collectors
First Pressing: This is the authentic 1966 US release (NPS-1).
Shrink Wrap: It is extremely difficult to find original 60s pressings that retain the original cellophane shrink wrap.
Booklet: Features the classic attached booklet which is often missing or damaged in used copies.
Hype Sticker: Retains the vintage "all the STONES' big hits!" hype sticker on the front.
5. Matrix/labels
Label: London Records (Classic Dark Blue label design typical for 1966 Stereo)
Catalog: NPS-1
Matrix / Runout: [Insert matrix numbers from dead wax if opened, e.g., ZAL-7161...]
