Description from the seller
Large glassware set from the Messina series by Peill + Putzler, Düren, Germany.
The glasses are made of mouth-blown and hand-cut lead crystal and feature the etched “P” mark.
The set includes a wide variety of glass types (whisky tumblers, liqueur glasses, beakers, cognac glasses, champagne coupes, sweet wine and wine glasses), making it suitable for collectors or elegant table settings.
Most glasses are in very good condition.
Minor flaws are present on a few pieces and are clearly described in the lot details (glass corrosion / small rim chips).
A fine example of German crystal craftsmanship from Peill + Putzler.
High-quality glassware set from the Messina series by the German traditional manufacturer Peill + Putzler Glashüttenwerke GmbH, manufactured in Düren (Germany).
The glasses are made of mouth-blown and hand-cut lead crystal. Each glass bears the etched 'P' as a quality mark. The series is characterized by its elegant, deep facets and balanced design language — classic German crystal glass from the second half of the 20th century.
Lot size (total 29 jars):
3 × whisky glasses / tumblers – 1 glass with glass corrosion
4 × liqueur glasses
5 × glass beakers
6 × Cognac snifters "Napoleon" – 1 glass with small flea bites on the rim
2 × Champagne coupes / champagne saucers
5 × dessert wine glasses
4 × wine glasses
state
The majority of the glasses are in very good to excellent condition, clear and glossy, with no chipping or cracks.
The few defects that exist (glass corrosion or small edge chips) are clearly noted and each affect only individual glasses, as listed above.
Overall, a very nice, collectible lot with uniform series affiliation.
Special features
- mouth-blown & hand-cut lead crystal
- original Peill signature ("P" etched)
- a rare, extensive service bundle for a series
Ideal for collectors, lovers of classic bar glasses, or a stylish addition to existing barware sets.
