Superb Japanese stoneware vase, large in size, decorated with a relief dragon evolving among the clouds.
The neck is richly decorated with floral motifs in moriage (raised enamel) with gilding, in the style of modern Satsuma ceramics. The body features a deep brown-black gradient characteristic of Japanese workshops from the 20th century.
The signature under the base, painted with a brush, reads /lIT/.
Kawajüi or Kawajui, referring to a Japanese workshop or potter active in the mid-20th century.

The signature on the underside, painted with a brush, reads /|IT# (Kawajui or Kawajui), corresponding to an independent Japanese potter or artist active in the field.
