Two-volume Dutch history work by Laurens Pieter van de Spiegel, titled Opheldering der vaderlandsche historie en regeeringsvorm en historie van de Unie van Utrecht, first edition published by Jacobus Huysman in 1780, in a soft cover binding, in Dutch, about 22 by 14 cm, with 679 pages.

Collection of unpublished documents serving to clarify the national history and form of government, especially the history of the Union of Utrecht, compiled and supplemented with some remarks by Mr. Laurens Pieter Van de Spiegel - Goes, Jacobus Huysman, 1780/1783 - (XIV) 351; (VIII) (XLIV) 328 pages - thick paper/delicate cardboard covers.
Fairly good. Bands discolored, spines worn, cracked open. Interior part 1: discolored/browned/foxing; interior part 2: discolored, here and there a spot or some foxing. A large number of pages in both parts are uncut. Some minor creases/creases.
Contains a portrait of Count Johan van Nassau Catzenelnbogen, stadtholder of Gelderland and Zutphen, and director of the Union of Utrecht.
