Luxurious illustrated edition by Gaston Barret of the famous play in which Marcel Pagnol (1895-1974) was criticizing money, created in 1928.
There are 18 watercolors by Gaston Barret engraved in etching by Robert Sterkers (4 vignettes in banners and 14 color plates).

Print run of 304 copies; rare copy on Rives, one of the 10 containing a two-tone suite and a single-tone suite, numbered from 29 to 38. No. 36, well complete with the 2 announced suites.
Our copy is enhanced with an additional suite in colors, not announced for this edition.

Bound in a cover signed by Robert Blaizot, beautifully executed in full brown morocco, with a spine featuring raised bands, and the title and author in gilt letters. The top edge is gilded, with gilt lines on the edges at the corners. Multiple gilt lines on the boards, with guards and turn-ins lined with pink moiré silk.
Covers and spine preserved.

Insulated back, light friction on the nerves. Solid case. Impeccable interior. Very beautiful, uncut specimen.
