Original edition of this beautiful biography of Pierre Louys, published by the revue Le Capitole, illustrated with unpublished drawings by André Szekely.

Limited edition of 235 copies. This one, one of 100 copies on Madagascar paper, hand-numbered (no. 73), containing an original etching printed on Holland Van Golder Zonen paper (portrait of Pierre Louys, signed and hand-numbered by André Szekely).

Conserved in an elegant half-chocolate leather binding, with a spine featuring raised bands decorated with the title in gold lettering, gilt top. Covers and spine preserved.
Strong binding despite wear on the edges and spine. Interior fresh and clean, free of foxing, in very good condition. A beautiful copy.

André de Székély (Doba Székely Andor in Hungarian, Andor Székély von Doba in German; Lőcse, April 16, 1877 – Paris 15th, January 5, 1964) was a Hungarian painter who became a French citizen. In 1908, he participated in the art action group the Visionary Movement and in the magazine La Foire aux Chimères, the movement's organ, which he illustrated on the cover. He was both a collaborator and one of the founders of the publication.
