Original edition of Renée Vivien's first collection of prose poems. Her real name was Pauline Tarn, and during her short life from 1877 to 1909 she wrote a dazzling body of work consisting of around twenty collections of poems and several novels and short stories, most of which were published between 1901 and 1910.
Our copy is dedicated by the author: [Memory of a sincere friendship. Pauline Tarn]
Set in a pretty half-shagreen mahogany binding with corners, ribbed spine highlighted with fine gilt fillets, title in gilt letters, covers preserved (without the spine).
Rare copy, in good condition. White stain on the front cover, very light rubbing on the joints and the upper crown. Fresh and clean interior, in very good condition (slightly yellowed publishing paper). Small tear on the original cover.
