Born in Anzin in northern France, Lucien Jonas's work has spanned the major upheavals of the 20th century. His work, displayed in many museums in France and abroad (notably in New York), remains a valuable testament to popular life, the memory of conflicts, and French maritime culture.

(Paris), Les Éclectiques du Livre, 1931
