Author Significance

Jiddu Krishnamurti (1895–1986) was one of the most influential spiritual thinkers of the 20th century. Initially groomed by the Theosophical Society as the prophesied “World Teacher,” he famously renounced this role in 1929, dissolving the Order of the Star in the East. He thereafter devoted his life to public talks and writings aimed at fostering a radical transformation in human consciousness.
