Marein Konijn - After the Labyrinth

This painting is part of a series depicting the North Dutch landscape in the period after prolonged rain. It shows a remnant of a corn maze, a place that was once lively and playful, and which I often visited with the children. After the harvest, only the stubble remains. Due to the persistent rain, these remnants now stand in the water, creating a still and almost abstract pattern. The scene captures a moment of transition: from play to silence, from use to memory. It is precisely in that simplicity and transience that the beauty I wanted to capture in this painting lies.

The painting is framed in a black wooden box frame with a silver top edge. The framed painting measures approximately 85 x 85 cm and is 3.5 cm deep.
