Description from the seller
The mysterious woman, vibrant and expressive, is a 70 x 100 cm painting by artist Flavia Delgado. This painting does not tell her story; it only suggests. It is an image suspended between the intimate and the theatrical, between the real and the imagined. Inside a café frozen in time, a female figure surrenders to the ritual of silence. Dressed in black, with a wide-brimmed hat casting a shadow over her face and a cigarette between her fingers, the woman appears as an apparition among lights and shadows, as present as it is elusive. A lamp casts a yellow beam of light that falls like a curtain over the red table, illuminating only what is necessary: a cup, a sky blue teapot, and part of her dress.
The scene suggests a wait. Or perhaps a goodbye. There is something restrained, elegant, and introspective in their posture, as if they inhabited a memory of their own. The background walls, with poorly hung paintings and blurred strokes, reinforce the sense of a subjective interior: more than a place, this café is a state of mind.
The use of color —reduced and striking— emphasizes the essentials: the red of the table and chairs, the yellow of the light, the black of the dress and silhouette. The scene is almost cinematic, like a frame from a film noir that was never shot.
Shipping
The work is offered directly by FLAVIA DELGADO, whose authenticity is guaranteed by a certificate signed by the artist. The painting (unframed) will be carefully rolled and protected within a sturdy cardboard tube for shipping.
