Description from the seller
Carlo D'Aloisio da Vasto (Vasto 1892 - Rome 1971)
On the high plain (1934)
Watercolor on cardboard
Frame measurements: 67 x 88 cm
Cardboard measurements: 50 x 70 cm
Ideal watch for collecting and investing.
Carlo D'Aloisio da Vasto approached art as a self-taught artist and explored techniques such as woodcut and watercolor-fresco, a personal and unmistakable technique of his own that arises from the compactness and depth of color, combined with the tonal play of masses.
His artistic production was primarily landscape.
He debuted at a very young age with local exhibitions between 1908 and 1912 in Castellamare Adriatica, showcasing his first paintings. In 1910, he exhibited at the show in Ortona, which achieved great success.
In 1912, just twenty years old, he left his family and Vasto to move to Rome. Since then, he has added the patronymic 'from Vasto' to his name in homage and in memory of his land of origin.
This artist participated in numerous national and international exhibitions, including the Venice Biennials (1934, 1936), the Rome Quadriennials (1931, 1935), and manifestations dedicated to sacred art in Naples and Padua.
He also organized solo exhibitions in Italy and abroad, including cities such as Rome, Milan, Naples, Lausanne, New York, and Santiago de Chile.
It should be noted that the artwork in question holds considerable importance due to the two labels on the back, indicating that it was exhibited at the Venice Biennale of 1934 and at the Italian Art Exhibition in Budapest in 1935.
An important and significant artist of the 20th century, well-valued in the art market.
There are some stains and small halos of humidity.
Authentic opera, a sure investment and collectible.
