Description from the seller
Antique French Pocket Watch – Quantème à Cylindre – 10 Rubis – ca. Late 19th Century
Beautiful antique French pocket watch featuring a Quantème (calendar) complication and a cylinder escapement, a characteristic mechanism of quality watches from the late 1800s.
The white enamel dial is signed “Quantème – Cylindre Remontoir” and displays:
Central hour and minute hands
Sub-dial for running seconds
Calendar sub-dial (date)
Month/day indication (French language)
The watch is powered by a mechanical hand-wound movement with 10 jewels (10 rubis), visible upon opening the case. The movement shows traditional finishing with brass gears and steel components typical of the period.
The case is made of silver-colored metal (no visible silver hallmarks detected), with finely engraved floral decoration on the inner dust cover and an ornate engine-turned pattern on the outer case back. A vacant cartouche is present on the back, suitable for engraving. The bow and crown are original and proportionate to the case.

Calendar functions move when adjusted (correct synchronization not guaranteed)
Dial shows age-related hairlines and wear
Case displays scratches, patina, and signs of honest age
Movement appears complete and original
