Italy - Army/Infantry - Military uniform - Temple Guard

Reproduction of a Jewish armiger or temple guard inspired by the imperial period during Christ's condemnation. These guards, under the command of Caiaphas, the high priest, protected the temple with the use of weapons. In fact, it was a true militia with its own ranks and roles, even authorized to arrest or kill a man if necessary. They wore a long tunic made of heavy, high-quality fabric, and a lighter cloak to allow movement. The belt was made of leather with metal decorations, attached at the back not with buckles but with bands that are tied (see photo). The headgear, also made of leather and entirely handcrafted, completes the outfit. An excellent display piece for exhibition.
