Description from the seller
Two very stylish and decorative pedestals / plant tables. The taller pedestal is 53 cm high, with a top surface diameter of 25.5 cm. The bottom surface has a diameter of 20 cm. It weighs over 2 kg. The pedestal is turned from beautiful solid oak and probably dates from the 1960s or 1970s. The shorter pedestal has a height of 46 cm, with the top having a diameter of 18 cm and the base a diameter of 21.5 cm. This pedestal weighs approximately 1.5 kg. It likely dates from the 1970s or 1980s. The wood used for this pedestal could be ash, but this is not entirely clear.
The pedestals are subtly and elegantly crafted. They consist of a slender, gracefully turned stem without too many fancy trimmings (see photos).
The pedestals still look very beautiful; especially the tall one. It has a lovely dark oak color and a beautiful wood grain. The shorter one leans more towards a kind of walnut color. This pedestal has a number of holes in the top surface (see photos). These are damages that occurred over the years of use and become less noticeable once an object is placed on top. The holes can easily be filled with dark restoration wax. The wood of both pedestals has a lovely shine, especially when they are waxed and buffed! Especially when paired with a sculpture, the pedestals create a majestic whole (see photos)!
Pedestals can be used in various ways. They can serve as plant stands, but you can also place a piece of art on them (see photos). A sculpture or a vase is especially highlighted on these beautiful pedestals. You could even use them as side tables, although they are certainly not made for that purpose.
The Piëdestals are carefully packed and insured shipped.
