n-8 (approx. 20 x 13 cm), 85 + 54 + 46 pages, illustrated with 3 frontispieces and 4 vignettes / tailpieces engraved by Charles Eisen.
Illustrated edition of the 18th century gathering several texts by Claude-Joseph Dorat and D’Arnaud, representative of the gallant and moral taste of the second half of the century. The work is enriched with seven engravings by Charles Eisen, a major figure in 18th-century French illustration, including three frontispieces outside the text and four decorative vignettes (headpieces or tailpieces). The engravings are complete, well-inked, and in good condition.
Ancient parchment binding, beautiful patina, smooth spine. The overall is solid, functional, and visually very expressive.
Healthy interior, paper with discoloration and signs of aging, no missing parts or major tears observed, engravings well preserved, complete copy.
