Description from the seller
Bernard van Laere
1917-1985
Painter, draftsman, self-taught.
Born in Eksaarde in 1917, died in Jette in 1985.
Shows a preference for landscapes from the Oudenaarde region and the Vlaamse Ardennen, including rural scenes, floral arrangements, and still lifes. Some quotes from the press: His critical, perfectionist approach to art is reflected in his magnificent collection of landscapes with appropriate color timing, breathtaking cloud formations, delicate compositions, and unforgettable atmospheres.
Each painting becomes a piece of poetry that is translated into the work shown here: 'Placing sheaves of grain on the land.'
His work is included in many collections, both domestically and internationally.
He has exhibited in several countries across the European continent and is represented in numerous national and international collections.
