AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Beautiful work by Corns de Bruin.

Oil paint on canvas with beautiful colors.

Painting in excellent condition. At the bottom, there is still an inscription from Mrs. February 2, 1940.

As is often the case with paintings by this artist, his name and also the subject/location are mentioned again on the back.

The artist Cornelis de Bruin mainly lived and worked in Amsterdam and until around 1923 in Baarn. He was a student at the Rijksacademie in Amsterdam and primarily painted and drew landscapes (mostly of the Gooi), sometimes with figures in the style of the Hague School. He was praised for his distinctive use of many shades of gray. Additionally, he worked as a tile painter at 'De Distel' in Amsterdam and at the 'Dordtsche Kunstpotterij' in Dordrecht. Cornelis de Bruin died on August 27, 1940, in Amsterdam.
