Description from the seller
F. Tur - Original Drawing - "The Practical Inventions of TBO" - (1955/1960 approx.) - Museum Piece
Signed by F. TUR (Francesc Tur)
"Los Inventos" is the most sought-after series by TBO collectors.
Original page by Francesc Tur (F. Tur), corresponding to the most legendary section of the magazine: 'The Practical Inventions of TBO'.
This work is a classic example of the humor and absurd engineering that made the publication famous. The comic features the invention 'CARACOLUS TBO,' an ingenious individual caravan shaped like a snail shell for hikers.
The work preserves the original editorial corrections (pentimenti). You can see strips of paper glued over the texts (such as the words 'CARAVANA' or 'TRASERO'), with the lettering corrected manually or mechanically. A unique opportunity to acquire an original from the section that defined several generations of readers in Spain. Ideal for framing.
Status report (Read carefully): The work is in a fair condition, showing evident signs of aging and use in the workshop.
Tears: An important vertical tear is present in the upper central margin, crossing the title area (between the word 'PRÁCTICOS') and descending towards the captions, although it does not significantly affect the drawing of the main characters. There is a minor tear on the right side of the 'TBO' title and another on the right lateral side, which does not affect the drawing.
Despite the damage to the top margin, the central body of the comic and the panels of the invention remain intact and legible. It is an ideal piece to 'rescue' and frame with a mat that covers the damaged edges, thus showcasing the spectacularity of the central drawing.
Measurements: 39 x 33 cm. Paper: natural cream tone due to age.
