Interesting work by the painter Riccardo Cessi (Dosolo, 1840 – Padua, February 27, 1913), painted in oil on canvas and in good condition.

Dosolo (Mantua) 1840 – Padua 1913
He studied at the Milanese Academy of Brera. He dedicated some paintings to Risorgimento themes, which were presented at the exhibitions in Turin in 1862 ('The Sentinel at the San Martino Birdhouse') and in Milan in 1866 ('Recreation in a Military Hospital in 1859'). He then moved on to address social themes ('The Victims of Vice', exhibited in Milan in 1867) and gender issues ('The End of Song', exhibited in Milan in 1871). On commission, he created commemorative portraits ('Alessandro Manzoni in his Library', circa 1876, Milan, Liceo Manzoni; 'Portrait of Ludovico Ariosto', circa 1880, Ferrara, Municipal Palace). As a fresco painter, he worked in several churches in Rovigo, Pincara Polesine, and Venice.
