Authentic Stony Meteorite NWA 869, a brecciated chondrite (L3-6) with surface chondrules, from Tindouf, Sahara, weighing 69.4 g.
Description from the seller
Magnificent meteorite NWA 869, of the brecciated chondrite type, classified as L3-6, which means it has a medium iron level and chondrules ranging from perfect and well-defined (type 3) to some fused with the matrix (type 6).
The dispersion area is located near Tindouf, Algeria, extending also towards the border with Morocco. In this well-sized specimen, we can see magnificent condrules on the surface and a beautiful shape, which speaks to how the meteorite fell. When cut, its brecciated structure with zones of different lithologies would appear. Spectacular!
A great opportunity to add to your collection a piece of the most famous classified condrite in the world. Condritas are the oldest materials in the solar system, with an estimated formation age of 4,550 million years. A true jewel of the universe in your hands.
