AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

In this lot, we are auctioning a beautiful slice of Sericho, a pallasite meteorite first discovered in Kenya in 2016. It is a sizable meteorite featuring beautiful olivines and its metallic iron-nickel matrix, in a spectacular interwoven pattern typical of this type of meteorites. Cut with a diamond wire, we achieved a thin slice that is large relative to its weight. Size and quality are ideal for a good collection.

Pallasites are very rare meteorites that contain olivines embedded in a metallic matrix. They originate from the mantle of large asteroids and account for only 1.7% of known meteorites.

This small asteroid was initially called Habaswein, a neighboring city of the first fragments found, although the meteorite was officially named Sericho, the area in Kenya where the impact took place.

A fantastic specimen to add to your collection. Don't miss this opportunity!
