with signature 'Eitatsu e' 榮達 繪 and seal 'Eitatsu' 栄達
A powerful and finely detailed painting of a mounted samurai by Koyama Eitatsu, an accomplished early 20th-century Nihonga artist. The warrior’s poised posture, elegant armor, and the spirited movement of the horse are depicted with precision and vitality. Softly fading mountains and the pale ground create a sense of depth, allowing the central figure to stand out with dramatic clarity. This piece features makie-decorated jikusaki (roller ends), beautifully executed in black lacquer with gold motifs—an elegant enhancement that adds artistic and craft value to the work. A refined and expressive scroll suitable for collectors of samurai art, classical Japanese painting, and works highlighting Japanese lacquer craftsmanship.
