Description:
For sale: a characterful and detailed sculpture of a mythological lion-dog, executed in vibrant turquoise glaze. This object is a beautiful example of Eastern symbolism, where the Shi Shi represents protection and good fortune.
The figure is very expressively designed, with characteristic curly manes, a sturdy tail, and a powerful, low stance. The deep, bright glaze has a beautiful shine that beautifully highlights the details of the ceramic.
Condition: The object is in good external condition. A skilled, professional restoration has been carried out on one of the flames on the back leg and on one ear. As shown in the photos, these repairs are very neatly done; they do not detract from the aesthetic value or the rarity of this piece.
