Superbly illustrated biography of David Livingstone, including 21 lithographic views of the doctor during his explorations, indigenous populations and animals of Africa, his meeting with Stanley Livingstone, Table Mountain, the Cape of Good Hope, Kwirara, Lake Ngami, Victoria Falls of the Zambezi, Lake Victoria, Nyanza, Zanzibar, Zanzibar seen from the sea, Saint Paul de Loanda, and the Murchison Falls. David Livingstone (1813-1873) was a British doctor, Congregationalist, and Christian missionary pioneer of the London Missionary Society, explorer in Africa, and one of the most popular British heroes of the late 19th century.
