Description from the seller
Tamiya 1/20 Grand Prix Collection No. 36 – Benetton Ford B192
Description
Up for auction is a classic 1/20 scale model kit of the iconic Benetton Ford B192 from the 1992 Formula One season. Produced by the world-renowned manufacturer Tamiya, this kit is famous for its high level of detail, including a removable cowling that reveals a highly accurate Ford HB V8 engine.
This specific kit is a must-have for F1 historians, as the B192 was the car that carried Michael Schumacher to his first-ever Grand Prix victory at Spa-Francorchamps.
Technical Details
Brand: Tamiya
Series: Grand Prix Collection No. 36
Scale: 1/20
Subject: Benetton Ford B192 (1992 Season)
Features: Detailed engine, slick racing tires, removable body cowling, and full sponsor decals.
Condition Report
This kit is offered in unbuilt and complete condition, showing honest signs of age that add to its vintage character:
Parts: All plastic runners (sprues) are present. Many remain in their original factory-sealed plastic bags, ensuring no parts have been lost. The yellow and black moldings are crisp and free of damage.
Decals: The original decal sheets are included. As is common with kits from the early 1990s, the decal carrier film shows some minor yellowing due to age. However, the colors remain vibrant and the graphics are sharp.
Box: The box is in good structural condition but shows typical shelf wear and "signs of age" (minor scuffing on the corners and some slight discoloration/fading on the white surfaces).
Instructions: Original Japanese/English assembly manual included.
Key Features for Collectors
Authenticity: Features the high-nose "banana" design that revolutionized F1 aerodynamics in the early 90s.
Complexity: A "Static Display Model" designed for hobbyists who appreciate engine and suspension detail.
Legacy: A perfect tribute to the Schumacher/Brundle era of Benetton racing.
Note: Glue and paint are required for assembly (not included).
