Description from the seller
This is most likely the most comprehensive book about Belgian Congo. It contains hundreds of photos, often full-page, depicting life in Congo at the time colonization began. The photos are, and this makes this work so special, all from private collections, including those of the Belgian Royal House. They show nature, the various tribes inhabiting the land, flora and fauna, mines and their minerals, etc. It consists of two parts: Part 1 contains 379 pages. Part 2 has 489 pages plus an appendix. In addition to a small number of color illustrations, Part 2 also includes a large fold-out map of Congo. It is in good condition and complete.
