Inside very fresh and flawless; clean with no foxing and with no marks. Outside stains on the (not bumped) covers; complete spine. Overall very good condition.
Rare, impressive German factory photobook - really hard to find in any condition.
"Manfred Heiting mentions this uncommon quarto which he obtained from a friend of Dr. Wolff's, with both many monochrome and 11 color images of steel making. There is no attribution to Wolff and Tritschler, but the images are definitely in their style, and were held to be theirs. That said, many of the images, while stylistically similar, are not as expertly lit, exposed, or printed, or show subtle subject movement such that they likely would not have been acceptable to Wolff and Tritschler; others are of high quality and would not be out of place in "Arbeit". Thomas Sommer cannot find any of the images in the archiv either and speculates that perhaps the title was done on commision and the negatives given to EHW. The book is an enigma, but we nonetheless include it here."
