Rare three-volume set of the major travel work by F. A. de Chateaubriand:
Itinerary from Paris to Jerusalem, and from Jerusalem to Paris.
going through Greece, and returning through Egypt, Barbary, and Spain.
By F. A. de Chateaubriand.
Paris, Le Normant, printer-bookseller, 1811.
Titles of volumes I, II, and III dated 1811.
Complete in 3 volumes (First volume, Second volume, Third volume)
• Present maps / plans, including a large unfolding map measuring approximately 76 × 53 cm.
• Presence of boards/maps related to the course (Mediterranean, Greece, etc., depending on the copy)
Vintage leather watch straps, nerve-backed, with gold lettering (normal usage wear).
Latches/hinges are well sturdy and maintain their position well when opened.
Paper with scattered foxing (common on early 19th-century paper).
Bindings with scuffs/scratches, spines/edges marked (consistent with age).
Cards in very good condition, clean and well-preserved with folds.
