Layer Child is a visual investigation into identity, memory, and perception. The child figure, immersed in an environment saturated with color and urban energy, emerges as a point of quietness within the chromatic chaos. The deep, silent gaze of the portrayed contrasts with the explosive movement of the background, where gestures of graffiti, stains, and gestural strokes coexist in a hybrid language between the classical portrait and street aesthetics.
The lighting shapes the face with shades of blue and violet, suggesting an almost ethereal presence, while the surroundings vibrate with electric oranges, reds, and greens — colors that seem to pulse from within the screen. The title Layer Child reveals the essence of the work: the overlay of visual and emotional planes, visible under different lighting conditions.
Under ultraviolet light, new layers emerge — inscriptions, traces, and hidden symbols become visible, like fragments of a secret narrative. This invisible dimension reinforces the idea that identity is made of multiple layers, some revealed, others kept in the shadow of experience.
