Villero is unquestionably among the most significant vineyards in Castiglione Falletto for quality and exposure. The clay-limestone soils and South/Southwest exposure give the Barolo Villero a powerful structure and deep aromatic profile. The tannins are soft and velvety due to extended maceration. Barolo Villero 2009 is a journey into the history of winemaking. With its aged ruby color, it opens to a bouquet of aged aromas – including notes of stewed cherry, dried rose petals, and pipe tobacco. On the palate, it reveals a structure reminiscent of the past, with velvety tannins and flavors of preserved fruit, aged leather, and a subtle hint of dry leaves.
