Seven vintage Japanese vases and vessels (ceramic, pottery, wood and lacquerware) dating from the mid to late Showa period (circa 1950s–1970s), originating from Japan, with varied sizes and designs and some bearing maker’s marks; the collection is in good condition with age‑related surface wear.
Description from the seller
This is a carefully curated collection of vintage Japanese vases and flower vessels, acquired from a Japanese antique market.
Each piece reflects a different aesthetic tradition, material, and surface treatment, offering a compelling overview of Japanese decorative arts from the mid to late 20th century (circa 1950s–1970s).
The set includes multiple items made of ceramic, pottery, wood, and lacquerware, featuring diverse glazing techniques, natural ash effects, carved wooden forms, and traditional motifs such as gold-painted designs. Several pieces bear artist’s marks or kiln marks on the base, as visible in the images.
Rather than a uniform set, this collection embraces variation—each vessel has its own presence and character, making it ideal for collectors, interior designers, or ikebana enthusiasts seeking authentic Japanese pieces with history.
