Ellen
105 x 73 cm | acrylic and spray on canvas

"Ellen" is a visual homage to Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf, Africa's first female president and Nobel Peace Prize laureate in 2011 for her tireless fight for freedom, justice, and women's rights.

The figure depicted does not represent Johnson-Sirleaf literally, but rather embodies the thousands of women whose lives were transformed by her legacy. With a serene face and closed eyes, this woman is a symbol of the peace achieved after the conflict, of restored dignity, and of female power that endures and rebuilds. Her figure, crowned with a blue scarf, reflects the feminine courage that transforms pain into hope.

The history of the fight for freedom is also the history of women.
Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf

The artwork is delivered without a frame, rolled up in a reinforced PVC tube to ensure safe and more economical delivery. Once you receive the artwork, it will be rolled inside the tube, which opens with a screw for added security, and wrapped in bubble wrap. After opening it, I recommend taking it to a specialized place to have it stretched and framed.

It is signed on the back and front with the completion date and authenticity certificate rolled up alongside the artwork.

The colors of the work vary slightly depending on the lighting in the room, adding dynamism and adaptability to the surroundings. These photos were taken inside a house with warm lighting. The work also features a satin varnish finish for durability and quality.

COBER Biography

Cober is a 26-year-old Madrid-based artist who has managed to forge a unique path in the art world, blending his urban heritage with his passion for figurative expression. His journey began in graffiti, where he created street-level murals that stood out for their mastery of space and ability to capture the essence of portraits. These monumental works, ranging from 10 m² to 500 m², allowed him to perfect his technique and connect with Madrid's urban environment, marking the start of an artistic pursuit that continues to define him today.

Currently, Cober takes his art beyond the streets, transferring his talent to large-format canvases. He masterfully combines spray techniques, acrylic, and plastic paint to create works that reflect the richness and depth of figurative art. His style has developed over a period of exploration, during which he sought ways to merge his graffiti experience with a more introspective and sophisticated expression. This journey led him to focus on the representation of women, figures that occupy a central place in his work. Cober finds in them a unique, almost indescribable beauty that transcends words and becomes the core of his artistic work.

With a palette dominated by neutral tones and gold details, their compositions convey elegance and emotional depth that invites reflection. For Cober, each portrait is a quest to capture the feminine essence, exploring the diversity, strength, and vulnerability that define their subjects.

The eyes are a recurring and fascinating element in his work. For Cober, they represent the reflection of the soul and the characteristic that most defines a person. In every gaze he captures, he seeks a silent dialogue with the viewer, a connection that allows him to convey stories, emotions, and fragments of life. This attention to detail and his sensitivity to capturing the intangible have defined his artistic identity.

Throughout his career, Cober has had the opportunity to bring his art to unique stages. He has created live works at the iconic Circuito del Jarama, a place filled with adrenaline and automotive passion. He also worked at the Porsche dealership in Majadahonda, where he fused the sophistication of Porsche cars with the expressive power of his art, creating pieces that capture the essence of the brand. His participation in graffiti competitions has been equally notable, winning important contests and establishing himself as a reference in the urban space.

With a versatile technique and a unique sensitivity, Cober continues to explore the boundaries of his art, always seeking new ways to express himself. His work not only connects with viewers but also leaves an indelible mark on every surface he transforms, whether it be an urban facade or a carefully crafted canvas.
