Original edition of the poetic collection by Ernest Raynaud (1864-1936) dedicated to Paul Verlaine, enriched with a beautiful inscription signed by the author: [to Albert Saint Paul, a tribute from the author].

Limited to only 162 copies, this one unnumbered on Holland imitation paper.

Decorated with a portrait of the author outside the main text and lovely typographic ornaments.

Paperback, with printed cover. In very good condition, covers slightly faded with some marks, spine creased and shaded, interior impeccable.

Ernest Gabriel Nicolas Raynaud, born in Paris (10th arrondissement) on February 22, 1864, and died on October 10, 1936, was a French writer and poet. He was also a police commissioner. An Ardennais through his mother, he spent his childhood in Condé-les-Vouziers, Coulommes, Sainte-Vaubourg, and Attigny. Thus, Paul Verlaine was able to write to him:
We are both halves of Ardennais.
Darker than you, I would say, wilder?
Proceeding through the forests, when you are from this village.
Soft and fresh, just as well as I know you.

He was one of the prominent poets of the Roman School group, founded by Jean Moréas in 1891.
