Description from the seller

Imago Christi by Nicola Samorì. The work, in its external appearance, consists of silver friezes and drawings, and a circular bas-relief on a leather background, forming a multi-material polyptych. The bas-relief is made of hand-patinated bronze in 800 silver. The binding in lamb leather, dyed at the Botte of the Officina delle Pelli by Mauro Tonelli, with hot silver impressions, was executed at the bookbinding workshop L'Arte del Libro by Bruno Superti. The bas-relief in hand-patinated bronze in silver was created using the ancient earth casting process at Giuseppe Belotti's art foundry. The piece is housed in a rotating plexiglass structure made by Catia Cimaroli's workshop.
Marilena Ferrari Publisher, Bologna, 2010. The artist Nicola Samori was inspired by the Sermon on the Mount from the Gospel according to Matthew for the creation of the artwork, here presented in fragments of text in six different ancient and modern languages. The work was printed using a Roman round typeface designed by Nicolaus Jenson in 1470. The piece contains five panels in three leaves, printed with lithography. At the center is a lithograph titled 'Libera nos a malo,' created by hand on stone using a press. The work is printed on pure chiffon paper weighing 250 grams, measuring 73x60 cm for the texts, panels, and drawings, 108x60 cm for the three-leaf works, and 142x60 cm for the four-leaf works. The paper was specifically produced by Cartiere Magnani in Pescia, measuring 38x56 cm, approximately 90 pages, published by Marilena Ferrari Editore in Bologna, measuring 38x56 cm, approximately 90 pages. Limited edition of 1/750 copies…
