Description from the seller
Francesco Polazzi is a contemporary painter of Emilian origins, active in Bologna, where he lives and works. He studied Literature and Philosophy in Bologna and then obtained a Master in Fine Arts in Birmingham, England. His painting blends figurative and abstract elements, with influences ranging from pop and street art to post-modern abstraction, creating a personal and dynamic visual language. His works feature both real and symbolic forms, patterns, and color fields, in a combination that invites dialogue between mind and body and encourages a sensitive interpretation of images.
Stories from the quantum field – description and interpretation
In this frame
Combination of shapes and colors: Polazzi uses fluid shapes and often complementary colors to create a strong luminous contrast effect. The colors enhance each other, giving the canvas a vibrant energy and a visual tension that recalls the continuous movement of possibilities in the quantum field.
Polymorphism of figures: The composition evokes shapes that simultaneously suggest anthropomorphic figures, ethereal landscapes, or symbolic configurations. There are no fixed images, but rather visual thresholds where perception can shift between different interpretations: a mask, an illuminated valley, or a figure in the making.
Field of possibilities – quantum reality: The theme of the 'quantum field' is visually represented as a threshold space between existence and non-existence: forms are not fully defined but seem to hesitate between different states. This metaphorically recalls the idea of quantum mechanics, where particles and states exist simultaneously in many possibilities before 'collapsing' into a definitive form.
Philosophical and symbolic approach: Given the artist's philosophical background and his inclination to combine abstraction and symbolism, the painting also lends itself to a philosophical and esoteric reflection: the 'quantum field' as a metaphor for infinite inner potentials and a dialogue between scientific knowledge and subjective experience.
Connection between neuroscience and esotericism: The continuous chromatic and formal oscillations in the painting can evoke perception and consciousness processes studied by neurosciences, as well as recall the esoteric idea of reality as a 'network of possibilities' in constant transformation.
Overall style
Overall, the style of this painting reflects a search for an artistic language that goes beyond mere representation, seeking a synthesis between figuration and abstraction, between aesthetic experience and philosophical concept, creating images that do not reveal themselves immediately but are discovered and transformed through the viewer's gaze. This dynamic and open element aligns with Polazzi's approach, which blends contemporary influences with a visual narrative capable of encouraging multiple interpretations.
