Two books in two volumes, in-16 (14 x 10 cm), mottled calf (period binding), smooth gilt spine decorated, title piece in morocco, lace in framing the covers and inside, pieces in green morocco at the center, gilded edges, vi-70-[1]; [2]-xxvi-73-[13] pages (complete). Corners, tips, and hinges rubbed, foxing on the Idylls work. Overall very good condition nonetheless.

The Idylles are adorned with a frontispiece title and 24 fine figures outside the text by Marillier, engraved on copper by himself (for the frontispiece), Delaunay, De Ghendt, Le Gouaz, Gaucher, Lebeau, Masquelier, Née, and Ponce.

The romances are illustrated with a frontispiece and six charming figures engraved by Delaunay jeune, De Ghendt, and Ponce, also after Marillier. The edition also includes six leaves of engraved music.
