【Product details】

This pair of Edo period or later samurai arm guards (kote) features dark brown lacquered iron plates mounted on faded green brocade textile with areas of metallic embroidery. The guards are reinforced with chainmail across the elbows, wrists, and upper arms, providing both protection and mobility. The fingers and backs of the hands are also fitted with lacquered iron guards.

The kote show clear signs of age and battle use, with scuffs, fraying, fabric loss, and peeling lacquer. There is rust throughout the metal components, and a notable crack is visible on the upper plate of the left arm. Please refer to the detailed photos for condition.
