Ko-natsume tea caddy in lacquered wood with a black ground and gold maki-e scroll patterns, crafted by Nakamura Sōetsu in the style of Hōunsai for the Urasenke school, accompanied by its original tomobako and cloth, measuring 7 cm in height, 6.5 cm in width and depth, made in Japan and dating to the 1960s–1980s, in good condition with minor signs of ageing.

A refined Japanese ko-natsume (small tea caddy) made of lacquered wood, decorated with elegant gold maki-e scroll patterns on a deep black ground.
This work was crafted by Nakamura Sōetsu, a Japanese lacquer artist, and created in the style favored by Hōunsai, the 15th head of the Urasenke school of tea ceremony.
The balanced proportions and restrained decoration reflect the aesthetics of the Japanese tea ceremony, where such tea caddies are used for powdered green tea (matcha).
The piece comes with its original tomobako (signed wooden box) and cloth, confirming its authenticity and intended use as a tea utensil.
