The name Rupert Krippe refers to Rupert Reindl, a renowned master of nativity scene carving:
• Rupert Reindl was born in 1908 in Patsch in Tyrol and became one of the most famous nativity scene carvers in the region.
• He learned the craft from another famous carver, Romed Speckbacher, and worked there for almost 20 years.
• After World War II, he continued as an independent carver and developed fine nativity scenes and other motifs.
• His works are considered important in traditional nativity scene sculpture.
