Description from the seller
The red wine ‘Luce’ is the result of a collaboration between Frescobaldi and Robert Mondavi at the Luce della Vite estate in Montalcino. It is an innovative blend of Sangiovese and Merlot, combining structure and smoothness in a region known for Brunello di Montalcino. The grapes, harvested in September, ferment in steel and undergo prolonged maceration, then age for 24 months in 85% new barriques. With an intense ruby colour, ‘Luce’ has a rich and complex aromatic profile, with floral, fruity, woody and spicy notes. A full-bodied wine, symbol of Supertuscans, loved by enthusiasts and critics alike.
The 2000 vintage, historically considered to be of excellent quality in Tuscany, enhances the longevity and evolution of this wine, making it suitable for long storage and sophisticated food pairings.
Pairings:
First courses with meat sauces, roasted red meat, light game, mature and blue cheeses, truffles
