Three books by Tommy Wieringa titled Joe Speedboot, published in Dutch by De Bezige Bij between 2006 and 2007, comprising 624 pages and described as nearly new, including a special gift box with facsimile pages and seven CDs, plus a German hardcover edition, two brochures, and a clipping.
Description from the seller
Despite fervent efforts, Tommy Wieringa has so far been unable to match the success of his novel Joe Speedboot. Like speedboats – we can't help but mention – the books flew off the shelves. And even the 7 CDs that publisher De Bezige Bij had Wieringa have printed, pressed, and packaged under the Zoem label – they couldn't resist either – flew out the door and quickly reached a third edition.
The offered 26th edition of Joe Speedboot is a special one. Because it is packaged in a, we quote, 'unique gift packaging.' A special box, therefore. The truly special aspect is added to the book itself: facsimile pages of the first and last pages of the very first version of the first part of Joe Speedboot.
A translation into German took quite a long time (2006), but once it was available, the German booksellers had to be kept in check through a special message not to sell the book before the official 'Sperrfrist' (August 5 of that year).
In this plot
1. Joe Speedboot. Paperback supplemented with facsimile pages in a special gift box. As new.
Seven CDs: Tommy Wieringa reads Joe Speedboot. Like new.
3. Joe Speedboat. German translation in hardcover with dust jacket. Like new.
Two brochures featuring nominations for the Libris Literature Prize and the NS Public Award. (Awards that, by the way, the author did not win.)
5. A clipping from Humo of March 26, 2025, with a hilarious piece about 'Fommy Fiefinga' by Delphine Lecompte.
