Description from the seller
You can't really call Thomas Rosenboom a prolific writer, as his body of work isn't that large. But when Thomas starts writing, it seems like there's no end in sight. Take the novel 'Gewassen Vlees' offered here (in its third edition from 1995). At 736 pages, it can easily compete with any part of J.J. Voskuil's opus 'Het Bureau,' to name just one.
Writing all those pages of letters did not come to grief for the author, as just a year after its publication (in 1994), the hefty historical novel was awarded the Libris Literature Prize. An achievement that Rosenboom would repeat five years later with the equally historical novel 'Public Works'.
And then consider that the novel published by Querido did not even contain all the text the author had invented. This was quickly evident during the New Year’s Eve of 1994-1995 when the margin printers of De Lange Afstand brought out a 'Parade' (8 pages with saddle stitch in a cover) for their friends and relations, a fragment from the penultimate typescript of the aforementioned 'Gewassen vlees'.
For those who want the ‘Washed Meat’ to be fully complete, this lot is a godsend. Because often, ‘Parade’ will not be available due to the limited edition of only 75 copies.
The lot is completed with a 'complete' by Thomas Rosenboom as a bookmark (featuring a text by Frits Spits on the back) and five cutouts related to the publication of 'Gewassen vlees'.
Both books are in good condition. 'Parade' has a few creases on the top and bottom edges. A book press will quickly provide a solution here.
