Description from the seller
Leather travel bag – Royal Rotterdam Lloyd (M.S. Indrapoera) – J.F. Lapré – circa 1925 – Shipping / Maritime travel case
Sales Text
Unique authentic leather cabin suitcase from the golden age of the Koninklijke Rotterdamsche Lloyd. This compact model (cabin baggage) was used aboard the M.S. Indrapoera, a passenger ship operating on the famous route to the Dutch East Indies.
The suitcase still clearly bears the original Lloyd luggage label with the name J.F. Lapré and the mention Indrapoera – Rotterdam. Such labels are rare and give this object a fully traceable maritime origin.
Made from heavy vegetable-tanned leather, reinforced with rivets and double stitching. The straps, handle, and fastenings are in vintage condition, giving the piece a raw, purely authentic look — just like found from a ship's trunk or an old attic.
A decorative and highly collectible piece of maritime history. Perfect for maritime collectors, vintage enthusiasts, window displays, or photography styling.
Condition (as expected for original hut baggage from circa 1925).
Visible wear on leather, signs of use, scratches, and patina.
Worn or damaged hand grip
Straps and closures in used condition
Interior with moisture stains and signs of aging.
Fully authentic, unrestored, purely decorative.
