Description from the seller
Spalding Top-Flite Tournament Model Iron:
Product Specifications
• Size: Approximately 94 cm to 98 cm in total length (Standard for a mid-century iron). If you have a measuring tape, measuring from the very top of the grip to the "heel" of the club where it touches the ground will give you the exact number.
• Weight: Approximately 425 gr to 450 gr. Vintage stainless steel heads paired with Pyratone-wrapped steel shafts are slightly heavier than modern graphite clubs.
• Original Packaging/Box: Not included.
• Country of Origin: USA (Manufactured in Chicopee, Massachusetts).
• Provenance: Not signed. However, it features a unique factory registration number (404393) stamped on the hosel, which served as the "provenance" for quality control and replacement for the original owner.
• Licensed: Yes, this is an authentic, original product manufactured and branded by A.G. Spalding & Bros.
Brand & Identification Details
• Logo/Stamping: The club head features the classic mid-century "Spalding" script, the "Top-Flite" block text, and the "Tournament Model" designation.
• Material Label: Stamped "Stainless Steel" on the back of the blade.
• Shaft Detail: The shaft is a steel core with a Pyratone (celluloid) wood-grain wrap, which was Spalding's signature aesthetic during this era.
• Club Type: Based on the blade shape and loft, this is a mid-iron (likely a 2, 5, or 8 iron; the number is typically located on the sole/bottom of the club).
