Set of 2 antique nursing rattles in silver and bone – Art Nouveau – circa 1900

DESCRIPTION

Rare set of two antique pacifier rattles from the late 19th or early 20th century.

The bodies are made of finely repoussé silver, decorated with sound pendants in silver, characteristic elements of traditional nurse's rattles. The handles are made of antique bone, one twisted and the other smooth, demonstrating high-quality artisanal craftsmanship.

These objects had a dual function: to entertain the child and serve as a protective talisman, highly valued in bourgeois and aristocratic circles.
