Wikipedia:
Alexander Comrie (Perth (Scotland), December 16, 1706 – Gouda, December 10, 1774) was a Dutch Reformed preacher of Scottish descent and one of the last representatives of the Nadere Reformatie. He practiced the ministry in Woubrugge for many years. To fully understand Comrie's theology, he must be placed in the context of the century in which he lived—the 18th century. He opposed the mixing of Reformed doctrine with Remonstrantism and resisted the emerging spirit of the Enlightenment.
