Description from the seller
I live in Slovakia, and the maximum delivery time within the European Union is 7–10 days.
My work, “Gravity of the Soul,” is an exploration of the subtle inner force that draws a person into themselves. The body here is not only a physical structure but a space where the weight of thought, the softness of light, and the quiet of introspection merge into a single, suspended moment.
As I created this piece, I watched how posture can reveal more about the soul than movement ever could. The lowered head, the softened lines of the muscles, the slight tension across the torso — all of these elements reflect an inward pull, a return to the deep, quiet center where emotions and memories arise.
The background is constructed as an emotional mosaic — fragments of pink, turquoise, blue, and muted ochre forming an atmosphere that surrounds but does not overwhelm the figure. These color fields act like echoes of feeling, present yet secondary to the human form.
The painting is executed in acrylic on canvas, using layered techniques. I began with translucent underpainting to establish depth and skin temperature, then worked gradually into denser strokes, allowing acrylic to create a vibrant interplay of light and shadow. Fast transitions, dry-brush textures, and soft glazing give the surface a sense of breath. The contrast of warm and cool reflections enhances the anatomical presence.
The background is painted more freely — almost expressively — to contrast the inner stillness of the figure with the motion of color around it. The gentle texture of acrylic adds immediacy and makes the figure’s presence nearly tangible, as though the gravity of its inner world could be felt through the gaze.
