Pieter Langendyk - De Graaven van Holland(groot papier editie) - 1745

Very good copy of the first part on large paper (27.5 x 20.5 cm). Complete with the 23 copper engravings. In contemporary half-leather binding with a title label, five ribs, and ornaments in gold embossing. The first part contains the vast majority of the engravings (23 out of 32).

Condition: Wear and damage, a piece of the strap at the bottom of the bag is missing; interior and engravings are beautiful.

Engraved title page by Henricus Spilman after Taco Jelgersma and from the same artist, 23 engraved portraits of the counts of Holland. Langendijk wrote annual poems for the literary society 'Trouw moet blijken' between 1724 and 1744. These were collected in this publication. He was appointed as the 'city historian' of Haarlem in 1749.
