Description from the seller
Abstract Painting by Shigeyoshi Koyama.
Signed and sealed artist identification.
Dimensions: 24 x 30 cm (footprint)
Their works are in various international collections, such as the Thyssen Grimaldi family.
After completing his studies in Tokyo, Koyama traveled to Paris in 1970, and six months later moved to Cadaqués, a town where he would stay until 1982. During this period, he held his first exhibition in Japan, specifically in Tokyo. He eventually returned to Cadaqués, settling there permanently in 1986. Koyama is inspired by Mediterranean light, but he also reflects his Eastern tradition in the very conception of the pictorial space. He does not approach perspective according to Renaissance standards but develops the theme through the resolution of planes. Therefore, in his works, we find a different way of representing reality: not as the eye perceives it, but as it is interpreted by knowledge and sensitivity.
The artist has a biography about their life and work: A Life Between Two Oceans. ed Comanegra.
